Role Playing Games and the Occult

Now it has come to my attention that role playing games (especially Dungeons & Dragons) have been
beaten down because people say that gameing leads to joining a cult. I have a message for them.

WHERE THE #@$*& DID YOU GET THAT IDEA?!

Some people (usually religous close-minded old people) think that players who play role playing games
think that the players cannot tell reality from fantasy, giving them violent urges. A few others
who are on drugs think that the Dungeons & Dragons player book gives instructions on casting real spells
which they use for Satan. And they think we're crazy. I was flipping through a book which was greatly
entitled: Coping with Satanism (Don't ask why I was reading it). I looked it up and they too say that
one of the 12 symptoms of being at risk to join a cult is playing role playing games.
Sure, a game like Shadowrun has violence in it, but only pretend violence. We play it because it
is not only fun but certain laws prohibit us from actually killing people and hacking into coporate files.

The whole think got started with a role playing gamer, by the name of, well I forget. He was under
great stress and his mother kept hampering him about grades. He was a prodigy, and skipped several grades.
He eventually tried to kill himself by taking an
overdose of drugs and crawling into the sewers or something to die. When missing, his stupid mother
hired a local P.I. (also known as P.I.G.) who, after searching his room, found a strange map.
It was a map of a dungeon to Dungeons & Dragons. They had found the kid and he wasn't dead.
The P.I. and the mother thought that he went off to play his own game of Dungeons & Dragons (the mother
couldn't handle the idea that she was a ^&#* and was a bad mother). The son eventually killed himself
with his mother's hand gun. That mother went off to form B.A.D.D. (Bothered about Dungeons & Dragons)
and get this:

The group wanted warning labels on RPG products that stated that they may cause suicide!

Another instance is of a boy who, like the first kid, was presured for his grades. He eventually
shot himself. His mother, having no clue, went off and said that in the game his character had been
cursed with a spell that made the character kill others and the only way to stop it was to kill himself
in real life. The other gamers denied this, saying it that was a stupid story, but the mother blamed
them because she couldn't expcept her failure as a parent.

So in response I say if you play RPGs and want to join a cult, join my cult!

The requirements are as follows:

  1. You must play RPGs, especially shadowrun.
  2. You must have access to an E-Mail address.
  3. You must be male or female. However, people who are both can also join.
  4. You must live on Earth.
  5. You must have access to a firearm, if not a firearm then at least a pencil.
  6. You must have lungs. Sorry fish.
Follow this easy two step method:
(1) Send your name or handle, and any other information (especially about yourself) to me.
(2) Be sure to mail it to makbeth@juno.com.
Wasn't that easy! Plus you get to be in a cult, and make mom proud.
