Introduction

The last group all died in the warehouse bomb eh? Now you got to spend about another 6 or 7 hours creating new characters. They all of a sudden a shadowrunners eh? This article gives some advice in the introduction of characters. Unless your one of thoose GMs who wants to screw the intro part and say they met in a bar, which is what Bloody Elf does most of the time. Here are some beginner runs that I got from reading the little story at the beginning of the Shadowrun Second Edition book. A word of advice, just make sure the players don't shoot each other because they are the best of friends.

  1. Half of the players are the target of the the other half in a run. But in the end of the halves were being betrayed or tricked into doing something so the two halves join up against the common foe.
  2. The runners are individually on the same run. Say one is decking into the system, another is sneaking in, and another is barging in on the target site itself. It's exactly the same as a normal run, except the players arn't working together.
  3. The runner is signed up to be either wanted or unwanted help to the runner this time.
  4. One of the runners is the other's mentor. This probably is the best idea for players with big egos, since one of the runners will need to look upon the other as a god or something.
  5. One of the other runners is in the right place at the right time, say the mage blasts a cop while they are chasing the other runner.
