Gee, I'm Sad
GM: "As you watch, the helicopter carrying your father finally stutters from the damage and crashes into
Lake Washington, sinking to the bottom."
Player: "Gee, I'm Sad."
It seems that some players have trouble actually role playing in role playing games. Sure, they direct
what their character is doing, but the characters never seem to have a personality or emotion. And even
if they do, many are copied after their own personalities.
The most I have ever seen from one of my players is the occasional ah, I'm scared.
Oh course, GMs don't make the situations easy.
Case 1:
Player: "I shoot the cop."
GM: "He is dead."
Player: "I move on."
Case 2:
Player: "I shoot the cop."
GM: "The bullets go through his body, shredding the armor and flesh. He yells in pain and falls to the
ground. He bleeds all over the floor aand trys to breath. With his last ounce of strength he pulls a
picture of a women from his uniform pocket and dies looking at it."
Player: "......."
What was my point? Well, I forget. Just some advice for GMs and players alike, that human (or
metahuman) life is precious, and NPCs aren't just their to be target numbers and damage condition
boxes on paper. So just put the gun down. Peace.
